The best canned sardines come from Portugal, so this is pretty much the only time you’ll find something from Salinity that is not from the Pacific Northwest. The Portuguese use the highest quality olive oil to pack these fish in the tins, and they never overcook them! So you end up with tender, flakey, delicious fish. Eat the whole thing (including the softened bones for extra calcium!) and get 20g of protein & 10g of healthy fat (mostly omega-3s). Can be eaten by themselves, with chips or bread, mashed with mayo like tuna salad, layered into a sandwich, or in a million other ways!
