The best canned sardines come from Portugal, so this is one of the only items you’ll find from Salinity that is not from the Pacific Northwest. The Portuguese use the highest quality olive oil to pack these fish in the tins, and they never overcook them! So you end up with tender, flakey, delicious fish.
Eat the whole thing (including the softened bones for extra calcium!) and get 20g of protein & 10g of healthy fat (mostly omega-3s). Can be eaten by themselves, plain with chips or bread, mashed with mayo like tuna salad, layered into a sandwich, or in a million other ways!
